On June 8, 9 and 10th, 2008 professionals and national experts on the link between animal cruelty and human violence gathered for a National Town Meeting in Portland Maine. With the support of national sponsors Kenneth A Scott Charitable Trust, American Humane and the Latham Foundation, the Linkage Project (a project of Youth Alternatives Ingraham) chaired the national planning committee and hosted this national effort to advance the Link. On June 10th, national experts from around the country gathered to identify critical issues and to sow the seeds of a national coalition. With a steering committee appointed (the Gang of Ten) and 5 critical issues identified, the work began to create the National Link Coalition.
On this page you have access to the original conference brochure, the National Town Meeting Summary, including the summary of the Experts’ Summit and also the meeting summaries from the Gang of Ten steering Committee.
